Hyundai Creta returned the title of the most popular model of St. Petersburg in January

In the first month of the year, Hyundai Creta compact crossover again became the market leader by new cars in St. Petersburg. Last time this model occupied the first line of the rating in October of 2019, and at the end of the year it lost the championship to KIA Rio.

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in January of 2020, the residents of St. Petersburg bought 284 Hyundai Creta crossovers, which is 47.9% higher than in the first month of 2019. The second one was another Korean model - KIA Rio (231 units; + 13.8%), and the domestic LADA Vesta (218 units; + 37.1%), which was in the top-3 of ranking since April’19, finished the top-3 of the year.

Then Volkswagen Polo (207 units; + 24.0%) and Mitsubishi Outlander (175 units; + 3.5%) follow. In addition, in January, the TOP-10 of the most popular models of St. Petersburg included Volkswagen Tiguan (173 units; + 50.4%), Hyundai Solaris (159 units; -43.0%), LADA Largus (147 units; - 3.3%), Skoda Octavia (131 units; + 47.2%) and Skoda Kodiaq (129 units; + 79.2%).

We should note that eight models from top-10 showed a positive trend in January, and sales of two of them (Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq) grew more than 1.5 times.
