The market of used pickups has grown by 5% in Russia

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, 33.1 thousand used pickups were sold in Russia in 2019, which is 5% higher than in 2018.

Japanese brand Toyota (9.7 thousand units) is the leader in the vintage rating of this segment in the secondary market, with a share of about 30%. Another representative of the country of the Rising Sun - Mitsubishi (7 thousand pickups of this brand last year found new owners) – is the second one. Domestic UAZ is only the third one in this rating (3.6 thousand units).

We should note that the top-3 finished the year with a positive dynamics. At the same time, Toyota improved its performance by only 0.9%, Mitsubishi - by 4.3%, UAZ - by 22.3%. Among pickups, Toyota Hilux (8.5 thousand units) was the most often the object of resale, followed by the Mitsubishi L200 (7 thousand units) and UAZ Pickup (3.6 thousand units) in the ranking.

According to the experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, the leadership of Toyota Hilux in the secondary pick-up market is supported by its high residual value. Most actively, used pickups were bought by the residents of Moscow and Primorsky Territory - 1.6 thousand and 1.5 thousand units, respectively. Also, more than a thousand pickups were resold in five other constituent entities of the Russian Federation - Krasnodar Territory, Moscow and Irkutsk regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and St. Petersburg.
