In 2011 Citroen will set up new record in the Russian market

This year French carmaker Citroen is planning to sell in Russia about 28,000 cars, which is 60% more than in the record for the brand 2010 (17,419 cars). This information was given to AUTOSTAT in Citroen Russia press service, where they also said that next year the company intends to increase its sales in Russia up to 40,000 cars (more than +40% to the forecasted result of 2011). 

From January till September 2011 Citroen dealers in Russia sold 19,878 cars – that is 70% more than a year ago. According to AUTOSTAT analysts, during nine months Citroen sold more cars than for the whole 2010, which was very successful for the brand. According to Citroen Russia, the high sales growth is a result of the beginning of the new generation C4 sales in Russia. During nine months of 2011 the sales of this model grew by 150% up to 7,351 cars. As a result the share of the Citroen C4 in the total brand’s sales came up to 37%. The largest sales growth from January till September was also registered for the Citroen C-Сrosser (+255%), the DS3 (+137%), the Berlingo (+74%) and the С3 (+42%).

Moreover, during nine months of 2011 Citroen increased commercial vehicle sales in Russia by 96%. That became possible due to the fact that the new Berlingo van went on sale. During the period under review the Citroen Jumper sales grew 3.5 times, which is a result of the Jumper model lineup extention. First of all they are different variants of buses and cargo-and-passenger vans: insulated van, manufactured goods van, tent van, drop-side platform.
