Volkswagen summed up sales results in Russia for 2019

Russian Volkswagen dealers sold 104,386 cars in 2019 - 1.6% lower than a year before. As a result, Volkswagen ranked the fifth among all car manufacturers in Russia, and the brand’s market share was 5.9%, according to AEB.

The best-selling Volkswagen in the Russian market remains Polo sedan - 56,102 buyers (-5.6%) chose this model in the previous year, the press service of the German automaker informed. Tiguan crossover is the second one in the Volkswagen lineup with 37,432 sold cars, which is 11.6% higher than a year ago. The owners of Touareg SUVs were 5779 customers (+ 23%), and the largest model of the brand, Teramont SUV, was chosen by 2595 consumers.

As noted, in 2019, Volkswagen brand introduced new equipment in Russia for almost the whole model range: AllInclusive, Connect, WinterEdition versions for the Tiguan crossover, Connect, Football Edition, Select versions for the Polo sedan, Exclusive, Business modifications for the Touareg premium SUV and Business Edition package for Passat sedan.
