According to the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, from January to November of 2019, 868.5 thousand new passenger cars equipped with automatic transmission were sold in Russia (including classic “automatic” transmissions, “robots”, CVTs, etc.). This is 2% higher than for 11 months of 2018.

The most popular car with automatic transmission in our country remains KIA Rio - for the reporting period, it was sold 64.5 thousand units, which is 7% higher than a year ago. Then two Hyundai models follow - Creta crossover (47.9 thousand units) and the Solaris sedan (39.9 thousand units). But the first mentioned model shows the sales growth (+ 5%), and the second one - a drop (-4%). Two sedans finish the top five in terms of sales of cars with automatic transmission in the Russian Federation – Volkswagen Polo (32.2 thousand units; + 37%) and Toyota Camry (30.6 thousand units; + 3%).

In addition to them, the TOP-10 of this rating includes: Volkswagen Tiguan (29.1 thousand units; + 4%), KIA Sportage (26.5 thousand units; + 4%), KIA Optima (23.3 thousand units; + 23%), Toyota RAV4 (23.1 thousand units; -7%) and Mitsubishi Outlander (21.8 thousand units; -1%). According to the experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, sales of cars with "automatic" transmission in Russia are growing against the backdrop of a fall in the whole market (-3%). As a result, their share grew from 56% to 59% for the year.
