In October French car market is in plus again

After the decrease in September, in October French car market grew by 2.8% up to 176,203 cars. During nine months the French car market increased by 0.4% up to 1,837,474 cars. 

Domestic brands, which form 57.9% of the French car market, increased their sales in October by 2.6% up to 102,008 cars. According to data got by AUTOSTAT from CCFA, Renault, which sold 40,372 cars (+5.3%) is a leader in the French market. The second place belongs to Peugeot with 27,763 cars sold (-3.2%). Last month Citroen sold 25,228 cars – that is 5.9% less than a year ago.

In October the sales of foreign brands increased by 3.2% up to 74,195 cars. The leaders are Volkswagen, whose sales grew by 4.8% up to 12,292 cars. The second place was taken by Ford with 9,065 cars sold (+7.1%), and Nissan, which sold 5,937 cars (+32.2%) is on the third place. Toyota (5,513 cars, -3.6%) and Opel (5,071 cars, -13,6%) are on the fourth and the fifth place of foreign brand rating respectively.
