LADA, Toyota and Nissan are leaders in the secondary car market


Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" investigated the brand structure of the market of used passenger cars in Russia for 11 months of 2019. Confident leadership in the secondary market is held by LADA. The share of Togliatti brand is almost a quarter (24.9%) of repeated sales of used cars (1.23 million units) of a total volume of 4.94 million units.

Japanese brands Toyota (546.6 thousand units) and Nissan (278.4 thousand units) are the second and third ones - thanks to the regions of Siberia and the Far East, where these cars are dominated by the right-hand drive. Korean brands Hyundai (259.7 thousand units) and KIA (241.5 thousand units) are the fourth and fifth ones in the overall ranking due to the European part of the country. Moreover, sales of these two brands in the secondary market are growing faster than others in the TOP-25 of the best-selling brands: + 5.2% and + 9.8%, respectively.

Among the premium segment cars, the unchanged leaders of the secondary car market are representatives of the “German three” - Mercedes-Benz (115.9 thousand units), BMW (107.4 thousand units) and Audi (85.7 thousand units), which, however, are outside of the TOP-10 of brands-leaders.
