    The analytic agency “AUTOSTAT” within the framework of the project “AUTOSTAT OMNIBUS - 2019. Used cars: preferences of car owners” (third wave) * investigated the willingness of car owners to consider purchase of a used car at a dealership. This study was conducted by online survey in March of 2019; it was attended by more than 1,900 car owners of various car brands.

The Russian market of used cars fell by 2% in November

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, the market volume of used cars in Russia in November of 2019 reached 463.4 thousand units, which is 2.3% lower than the result of a year ago. Thus, after the October growth (+ 2.1%), the secondary market again went to the “minus”.

The domestic brand LADA has traditionally a quarter of the Russian market of used cars. So, in the last month of autumn, the volume of repeated sales of VAZ cars turned out to be 116 thousand units - lower by 4.4% than in November of 2018. Then in the brand ranking there are Japanese Toyota and Nissan cars, the volume of secondary markets of which reached 50.7 and 25.9 thousand passenger cars, respectively. At the same time, both brands also showed the negative dynamics (-2% and -3.5%, respectively). Korean Hyundai (25.3 thousand units; + 5.1%) and KIA (23.3 thousand units; + 7.3%), which, on the contrary, show the growth finished the top 5.

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that by the results of 11 months of 2019, the market volume of used passenger cars reached about 5 million units. This is slightly less (-0.3%) than in January – November of the previous year.
