The car market in Russia, which continued to fall in November, remained the fifth one in the European championship.
According to data obtained by the AUTOSTAT agency in the national associations of European car manufacturers, Germany became the leader by car sales in November, where 299,127 cars were sold (+ 9.7%).
According to the German Automobile Industry Association (VDA), sales growth is partly due to a wider choice of models in the market in compare with the last year, when new rules for certification of WLTP cars in the European Union were introduced. France took the second place in the European championship with 172,735 sold cars (+ 0.7%). The third result was shown by Great Britain – 156,621 cars (-1.3%). Thus, after the September growth in demand, negative dynamics are recorded for the second month in a row. As noted in the British Society of Automakers and Car Dealers (SMMT), despite the low base of the last year, this is partly due to the political and economic instability because of another delay of Britain's exit from the European Union.
Italy is the next; its car dealers sold 150,587 cars (+ 2.2%). If, when considering the European car market, Russia is taken into account, then our country remains the fifth one in the European rating.
According to the estimates of the AUTOSTAT agency, sales of cars reached about 144 thousand units (excluding LCV) in the last month. We also add that the Spanish car market grew by 2.3% in November and reached 93,158 cars.
