The average age of cars in Russia is 13.4 years

Experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT conducted a study of the car fleet in the Russian Federation (as of July 1st, 2019) and determined its average age. According to the results of the study, the average age of all cars registered in our country is 13.4 years. At the same time, this indicator is lower for foreign cars - 11.2 years. And the age of domestic cars is 17 years in average.

Among cars of foreign brands the Chinese ones have the “youngest” fleet (7.4 years). The average age of Korean cars is 7.8 years, American - 10.7 years. For European cars, this figure is 11.1 years. The oldest among foreign cars are Japanese, the result of which coincides with the all-Russian one (13.4 years). Among the domestic brands, UAZ has the smallest average age (15.1 years), and it is slightly higher for LADA cars (16.4 years).
