BMW Group has sold more than 400 thousand cars for 20 years of work in Russia


BMW Group Russia, which celebrates its 20th anniversary, has sold more than 400 thousand BMW and MINI cars during its operations.

Recall that the Russian division of the concern was created in 1999. In its debut year, the company sold 711 BMW cars. Since then, sales have grown tenfold, and Russia has become one of the important markets for the BMW Group. So, for 10 months of 2019, the combined sales of BMW and MINI grew by 16%. The share of BMW Group Russia brands in the premium class exceeded 28% - this is the best indicator for 20 years. At the same time, BMW tops the rating of the premium segment, and it is also included in the TOP-10 of the most popular brands in the Russian car market in general, reports the press service of the BMW Group Russia.

As noted, one of the key success factors of the company is the local production. The BMW Group was the first manufacturer among the premium segment that launched the car assembly in Russia. Cooperation with the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant was also launched in 1999. Over 20 years, more than 200 thousand BMW cars left the assembly line of the enterprise, and the manufactured line now covers nine models.
