KAMAZ intends to sell 45,000 cars in 2011

KAMAZ adjusted sales forecast for 2011 again – by 12.5% as compared to the last forecast and by 45% as compared to the original plan. According to RBK daily, the carmaker is less optimistic about the next year.

In 2011 KAMAZ is planning to sell about 45,000 trucks, the first deputy director, the plant’s CEO Yuriy Klochkov informed Prime agency. According to the original business plan KAMAZ was going to sell 31,000 cars this year, but the actual data made the company adjust the forecast. Since the beginning of the year the plan was increased more than up to 38,000 cars, and in the middle of September the forecast was adjusted up to 40,000 cars. From January till August the car plant sold about 23,000 trucks (that is 40% of the Russian market).

According to Mr. Klochkov the forecast for 2012 is also positive: “In my private opinion, KAMAZ sales growth will be about 10% in 2012”. The business plan for the next year is under consideration now, it will depend on the situation in the market. “We consider two variants of the market development. The first scenario is that the sales in the Russian market will come up to 120,000 trucks next year, if there is no crisis. The second variant is 90,000 – 95,000 trucks, that is the level of this year. I believe that the second variant is more probable and the sales will remain at this year level”,- KAMAZ marketing director Ashot Arutyunyan told to RBK daily.

“KAMAZ sales depend on the economy a lot”, - Vladimir Bespalov from VTB Kapital believes. Last time during the crisis they slumped, the analyst reminded. “The sistuation is still unclear. My basic forecast of the heavy truck market in 2012 is 94,000 cars. KAMAZ will sell about 45,000 trucks of them, that is about this year level”,- Mr. Bespalov believes.
