TOP-10 of regions of Russia by the number of registered foreign cars

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, as of July 1st, 2019, there were 27.5 million foreign cars in Russia, which is 62.4% of the total fleet of cars. Most foreign cars are in Moscow - 3.1 million units. The neighboring Moscow region is the second one in the regional ranking, where this indicator is 2.1 million units. St. Petersburg finishes the top 3 (1.44 million units).

Among non-capital regions of the Russian Federation, Krasnodar Territory has the largest fleet of foreign cars (1.11 million units). In other regions of the country their number is lower than 1 million, and the TOP-10 includes: Sverdlovsk region (840.9 thousand units), Primorsky Territory (798 thousand units), Rostov region (759.7 thousand units), Tatarstan (703.3 thousand units), Bashkortostan (635.8 thousand units) and Chelyabinsk region (627.6 thousand units).

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that among the listed leading regions, Primorye has the largest share of foreign cars - 93.7%. In Moscow, this figure is 84%, and in St. Petersburg - 81.4%. On the other hand, the smallest share of foreign cars in the TOP-10 was fixed in Bashkortostan (50.7%). In Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, Chelyabinsk and Rostov Regions, it is higher, but does not reach 60%.
