Passenger car production remained “in the red” in September

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, for 9 months of 2019, 1.1 million passenger cars left the Russian conveyors - an increase of 1.1% in compare with the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, in September, about 100 thousand cars were produced, which is 0.6% lower than the previous year.

It is worth noting that in September AvtoVAZ introduced the additional shifts on the LADA Granta line, where cars of the LADA Granta and Datsun family are produced. But GM-AvtoVAZ, on the contrary, suspended the production of Chevrolet Niva cars for a week to optimize the demand. In addition, the Moscow Mercedes-Benz plant switched to a two-shift mode of operation.

The production of trucks reached 109 thousand units in January-September, which meet the level of 2018 (-0.1%). In the previous month, 14 thousand trucks left the Russian conveyors - 5.7% higher than the previous year. It is worth noting that Ford Sollers Yelabuga plant began the production of the updated Ford Transit.
