LADA sales fell by almost 40% in the European Union in September

In September of 2019, 204 new LADA vehicles were sold in the countries of the European Union, which is 38.6% lower than the previous year. According to the experts of analytical agency AUTOSTAT (based on ASEA data processing), after the August growth, sales of Russian-made cars in the EU fell again.

September sales of LADA are lower than the sales of such brands as Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini or Dodge with Maserati. Russian-made cars were ahead of only Alpine (Renault sports division).

If we consider the statistics for 9 months of this year, then the sales of LADA cars for this period reached 3.8 thousand units, by showing a decline of 8%. At the same time, their share was only 0.03% of the total EU market volume (more detailed information is contained in the Analytics section).

Recall that earlier AvtoVAZ announced the temporary withdrawal of the LADA brand from the EU car market due to the tightening of environmental standards. Euro 6d-TEMP standard that was introduced in the previous autumn requires the significant investment in the engine upgrades. Meanwhile, AvtoVAZ press service noted that the company has plans to create, in close cooperation with partners from the Alliance, a global model and return to the European market.
