Sales of premium car brands grew by 3% in the Russian Federation

According to the estimation of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for 8 months of this year, 98.6 thousand new premium-brand cars were sold in Russia. This result is 3% higher than in January – August’18. Experts also noted that the premium cars sale in our country is growing amid a fall in the market (-2%).

Positive dynamics in the premium segment is demonstrated by a half of the brands (7 out of 14). So, Genesis sales grew the most during the reporting period (+ 32% to 1,359 units). Sales of Jeep (+ 27% to 1,244 units) and Porsche (+ 23% to 3,622 units) grew by more than 20%.

The leader of the premium segment - German BMW - recorded sales growth by 17% (up to 26,690 units). Volvo also added over 10% to the result of the previous year (+ 14% to 4,921 units). Sales of the German MINI (1,619 units) and Mercedes-Benz (25,846 units) grew by 7% and 5%, respectively.

Another brand from Germany - Audi - shows the market stability (9,931 units; 0%). And the following brands are in the “negative” zone: Smart (-6% to 555 units), Land Rover (-11% to 5,293 units), Cadillac (-14% to 581 units), Lexus (-15% to 13,335 units), Infiniti (-17% to 2,459 units) and Jaguar (-24% to 1,174 units).
