Experts of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT examined the Russian market of new passenger cars for 8 months of 2019 and identified the regions in which more Chinese cars are sold.

According to the results of the study, from January to August this year, most of the Chinese brand cars were purchased by Muscovites - 2.1 thousand units. In total, the share of Moscow and neighboring Moscow Region reached 22% of the total sales of the “Chinese” in Russia - in fact, every fifth new car of Chinese origin was sold in Moscow and its environs. It is explained solely by the size of the Moscow car market. With a more detailed study of the issue, it becomes obvious that the "Chinese" cars occupy only 1.4% of the sold new cars in the capital.

In January-August’19, St. Petersburg reached 6.6% of new cars of Chinese origin (about 1 thousand units). Among the non-capital regions, Bashkortostan (4%) and Samara region (3.5%) are the leaders in this rating.

If you look at the sale of Chinese cars in the federal districts for 8 months of this year, then the largest share for the reporting period is held by the Central (33%), Volga (21%) and North-Western (14%) districts. In total, these three districts have about 80% of the total Chinese car market.
