Foreign cars occupy more than 62% of the Russian park of cars

According to the data of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, as of July 1st, 2019, there were a little more than 44.1 million passenger cars in Russia. At the same time, foreign cars reached 62.4% or 27.5 million units.

As noted, over 22% of the passenger cars are Japanese brands cars (9.9 million units). The cars from South Korea occupy two times less of the park, with the share of 11.4% or more than 5 million units. Every tenth car in the Russian park belongs to German brands; their number exceeds 4.5 million units.

Less than 10% share is occupied by American (7.4%), French (5.4%), Czech (1.9%) and Chinese (1.4%) brands in the Russian park.

Other foreign brands own less than 1% of the Russian park. But still, the most common in Russia are cars of domestic brands. So, as of July 1st, 2019, they had 37.6%, or 16.6 million units.
