KAMAZ lowered its sales forecast for Russia in 2019

2.jpg

KAMAZ lowered its forecast for domestic sales in Russia in 2019 to maximum of 30 thousand cars. It was announced by the CEO of the company Sergey Kogogin. "In total, we estimate KAMAZ sales in Russia at least 28.5 thousand - at most 30 thousand units, we expect to sell 5 thousand in export markets," - the Interfax agency quotes the head of KAMAZ.

According to the previously approved KAMAZ business plan for 2019, it was planned to sell 39 thousand vehicles, including 33 thousand vehicles in the Russian market and 5 thousand - abroad.

In general, KAMAZ estimates the Russian market of heavy trucks this year up to 58 thousand vehicles, which is lower than the previous year, "but better than the pessimistic scenario" of the company, Mr. Kogogin noted. He also noted that the company does not expect a “super-good” financial result in 2019 due to the low market, large investment burden and bus leasing debts accumulated by the administration of Naberezhnye Chelny (over 700 million rubles).

At the same time, the head of KAMAZ noted that the company expects a positive impact on the financial results of seasonal increased demand in the fourth quarter. "In addition, in the 2H19 we have the main pool of export contracts: we have signed major contracts in Turkmenistan (this year the task is to deliver almost 900 vehicles there), work is ongoing in the market of Uzbekistan (contracts for more than 1 thousand units), and we traditionally look forward to the Kazakhstan market. Contracts for Vietnam have been signed, now we are starting to ship,"- said Mr. Kogogin.

Earlier, KAMAZ expected to get a net profit of 500 million rubles in 2019, and revenue of 197 billion rubles. According to the data of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for 8 months of 2019, the market of new trucks in Russia reached 48.9 thousand units, which is 3.3% lower than the previous year. The leadership in the truck market is traditionally held by KAMAZ, sales of which in the reporting period grew by 9.9% to 17,282 vehicles.
