Skoda increased sales by 4% in Russia in August

Russian Skoda dealers sold 7,007 cars in August - 3.9% higher than the previous year. According to the results of 8 months of 2019, sales of the Czech brand in our country reached 54,142 cars, which is 8.9% higher than the figure for the same period of the previous year.

As a result, Skoda ranked the seventh in sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand’s market share was 4.9% versus 4.4% the previous year, according to AEB.

According to the press service of Skoda Auto Russia, Rapid compact liftback remains the bestseller of the brand in the Russian market in August – 2,689 customers (-6%) chose it. Kodiaq SUV is the second one; its sales grew by 23% to 2,296 units. Skoda Octavia brand finishes the top 3 bestsellers with 1923 sold cars (+ 4%).

We also add that the sales of the flagship model Skoda Superb reached 99 cars (-31%). As AUTOSTAT previously reported, Skoda plans to begin sales of the updated Superb in Russia in the third quarter of 2019, the world premiere of which took place in May. The start of Russian sales of the Karoq crossover is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
