    For the last year, 1 million 671.6 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is more by 13.3% than in the last year. At the same time, in December of 2018, sales of new cars were 158.3 thousand units, which is more by 3.9% than a year ago. As for crossovers and SUVs, their sales in January-December grew by 18.1% in compare with 2017 and they were 729.2 thousand cars. The segment's share in total sales grew by 1.7 percentage points and reached 43.6%.

KAMAZ works to reduce losses from defects

For the 1H19, the share of losses from defects in the cost of KAMAZ production fell by 10 points in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Significant results in instance were achieved by the Forge Plant: a defect decrease by 27% in the issue made it possible to reduce direct material costs by 11.2 million rubles, KAMAZ press service reports. Recall that since 2018, KAMAZ implement a Quality Transformation Strategy, which involves the transition to quality assessment “through the eyes of the consumer”.

So, the main objectives of Quality-2019 program and Quality objectives for the current year are the reduction IPHV3mis (the number of complaint defects per 100 cars by the results of 3 months of operation) by 10%, the growth of car satisfaction up to 86% at the time of purchase and customer satisfaction with the service center - up to 89%.

In general, by the end of the year the company plans to reduce losses from defects by 20%. In addition, KAMAZ team has a task to sell the diversification products worth 7.88 billion rubles. Note that the Goals are set in accordance with the actually achieved values in 2018.

According to the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, in the 1H19, the KAMAZ truck market grew by 6.3% and reached 12.8 thousand units. The leadership in the model structure belongs to KAMAZ 43118, with 3 thousand sold units (-6%). It is followed by KAMAZ 5490 (2.6 thousand units; + 8.6%) and KAMAZ 65115 (2.5 thousand units; + 15%).
