TOP-10 of the most popular cars of Japanese brands in the Russian Federation

According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, for the 1H, 2019, almost 140 thousand new Japanese-made cars were sold in Russia, which is by 6% less than the same period of the previous year.

The most popular Japanese car in Russia remains the Toyota Camry business sedan, sales of which in the 1H, 2019 reached 16.3 thousand units, which is 18% more than the result of January - June 2018. The second line of this rating was retained by the Toyota RAV4 crossover, sales of which for the reporting period amounted to 13.3 thousand cars (-1%). Other three representatives of the SUV segment: Nissan Qashqai (11.3 thousand units; + 10%), Mitsubishi Outlander (10.7 thousand units; -6%) and Nissan X-Trail (10.2 thousand units; -4%) come the next.

Outside the TOP-five there is the budget Datsun on-DO sedan, the sales of which, according to the results of 6 months of this year, grew by 24% to 9.3 thousand units. Mazda CX-5 crossover (9.2 thousand units) was slightly inferior to it, the sales of which fell by 10%. The eighth place in the ranking was taken by Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV (6.5 thousand units; -22%). In addition to these models, the TOP-10 of the best-selling "Japanese" models also included Nissan Terrano (6.1 thousand units; -10%) and Lexus RX crossovers (3.8 thousand units; -16%).
