The Renault Megane and the Lada 2104 will be transported to the Far East under preferential terms

Russian government included the Renault Megane and the Fluence, as well as the Lada 2104 in the program of new car subsidized freightage from Russia to the Far East. The program of subsidized transit of passenger cars to the Far East by rail freightage free of charge was started in 2009 as a crisis management measure and was prolonged in 2010 and 2011. 

According to PRIME agency, Russian Railways company transports about 80 models of several brands under this program - Ford, Lada, Kia, Fiat, UAZ, GAZ, Opel, Skoda, Volkswagen, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Hyundai. The list of cars transported from the Far East under preferential terms contains seven models, including Ssang Yong and Isuzu.

Besides freightage of Renault and Lada cars to the Far East, the government decided to transport the Isuzu NPR and the NMR medium-duty trucks from the Far East free of freight.
