The Kazakhstan car market doubled during nine months

According to Qncepto consulting company, in September passenger car and LCV sales in Kazakhstan increased by 81.3% up to 4,042 cars. During nine months of 2011 the Kazakhstan car market grew almost twice and came up to 29,063 cars (+102.4%). According to the experts, despite the decrease in the growth rates as compared to the Summer months, the results of the III quarter were the best for the recent four years – 11,865 cars sold (+94.1%). At the same time, used car import in the Kazakhstan market decreased to the historic minimum – 2%. The only thing, which prevents the market participants from making use of Consolidated custom tariff, which came into force in July 2011, is the limited supply volume.

Meanwhile, passenger car sales in September grew by 94.9% up to 3,427 cars, which is a new post-crisis record. During nine months the Kazakhstan car market grew by 111.7% up to 24,250 passenger cars, including 9,889 cars sold in the III quarter. Lada cars of Russian and Kazakhstan assembly, whose sales in July-September grew more than twice up to 3,069 cars, are the leaders in the market. The second place was kept by UZ-Daewoo, which increased its sales 2.2 times up to 1,262 cars. The third place was taken by Hyundai – its result was 1,203 cars (10.1 times growth). This high result became possible due to the beginning of supplies of the Hyundai Accent sedan of the Russian assembly to the Kazakhstan market. Japanese Toyota left TOP-3 and shifted to the fourth place with 897 cars sold (+26.3%). The fifth place belongs to Chevrolet, whose cars of Kazakhstan and Russian assembly were bought by 499 consumers (+91.2%).

We should also mention, that last month the Kazakhstan LCV market grew by 30.6% up to 615 cars. From January till September LCV sales in Kazakhstan increased by 65.4% up to 4,813 cars, including 1,976 cars sold in the III quarter. According to the experts, the gap between the major players of LCV segment increased significantly. Dealers of the Gorky car plant sold 1,047 cars (+93.5%) from July till September. The sales of UAZ LCVs came up to 585 cars, which is 39% more than a year ago. The third place belongs to Volkswagen with 65 LCV sold (-47%). The brands with the market share from 2% to 3% are FAW, IZH, Toyota and Hyundai.
