How much time do Russians need to save up for a new car?

2.jpg

The most common salary in Russia is 23.5 thousand rubles. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to Rosstat. As they say in the department, according to preliminary data, this is a modal (most common) wage in our country.

Meanwhile, the specialists of AUTOSTAT analytic agency decided to calculate how long a resident of our country with such salary would save up for a new car. We should mention that this is a conditional calculation, as it does not take into account any other expenses. A person is supposed to save up all his salary for a vehicle purchase without a car loan. It does not give a clear idea about the time of money accumulation, but enables to view the economic situation of the majority of Russian citizens.

Taking into account that the average price of a new passenger car in Russia was 1.52 million rubles in the first half of the year, a person with a 23.5 thousand ruble salary needs 65 months (or almost 5.5 years) to save up the entire amount of the purchase. It is obvious that depending on the region of residence or the level of aspiration, this period may differ a lot. E.g., to buy the bestseller of the Russian market – the LADA Granta (its most affordable modification costs almost 440 thousand rubles) - with this calculation, it will take 19 months or a little more than 1.5 years. However, to become an owner of the most popular premium vehicle - the Lexus RX (its minimum price is just over 3 million rubles), one will have to save money for 128 months, i.e. about 11 years.
