Global Skoda sales exceed 620,000 vehicles in first half year

Experts of AUTOSTAT analytic agency have already reported that Skoda sales in Russia increased by 10% during 6 months. In other markets, the demand for the Czech vehicles also increased.

According to the press service of the automotive manufacturer, Skoda sales grew by 8.3% in Eastern Europe and by 3.2% in Western Europe. However, in the first half of 2019, the global sales of the brand reduced by 4.9% to 620,900 vehicles. The main reason for the sales decrease was the general decline in the Chinese market. At the same time, Skoda sold 495,000 vehicles in other markets during the first six months, which is 1.6% more than a year ago.

The Skoda Karoq compact crossover became the main growth drivers in Europe. Moreover, sales of the new Skoda Skala started successfully. We should remind that the company has recently started production of a new Skoda model - the Kamiq crossover - at a plant in the Czech city of Mlada Boleslav.
