Ukrainian automotive market grows by 8% in June

According to AUTOSTAT analytic agency, the new passenger car market in Ukraine came up to 6,975 vehicles in June 2019, which is 8.3% more than a year ago.

Toyota is the leader of this market with 1,139 vehicles sold in the first summer month, which is 59% more than in June 2018. French Renault, whose sales increased by 34% up to 1,053 vehicles, is on the second place. Far behind the leaders, the third place was taken by Korean KIA (489 vehicles), whose sales grew by 9%. It is followed by Japanese Nissan with 450 vehicles (+ 25%), and Korean Hyundai (395 vehicles; - 6%).  

The KIA Sportage, whose sales increased by 68%, became the most popular model of the Ukrainian market in June (419 vehicles). Then comes another representative of the SUV segment – the Toyota RAV4 (365 vehicles), whose sales more than doubled (+ 114%). Two Renault models – the Logan (360 vehicles; + 85%) and the Duster (307 vehicles; + 32%) were also in the TOP-5. The fifth place was taken by the Hyundai Tucson (200 vehicles; + 15%).

According to the experts of AUTOSTAT analytic agency, the Ukrainian automotive market has been growing for the fifth month in a row and has positive dynamics in the first half of the year. Thus, during this period, it came up to 39.4 thousand vehicles – that is 4.7% more than during the first six months of last year.
