Lifan may expand its model range in Russia

The company Lifan considers the expanding of the model range in Russia. Two 7-seater cars can soon reach our market - the big X80 crossover and the M7 minivan. However, the company decided not to display new items together, but to do it in turn. The choice between the cars has not been made yet, Liu Jiang, general director of Lifan Motors Rus, informed the Chinese Cars portal.

According to him, Lifan X80 is good for those who want to change their X50, X60 crossover or analogue of another brand to a more spacious car. And the minivan will have no competitors at all among 7-seater models. Apparently, the top manager meant competitors among foreign cars. Another version is that Lifan does not consider LADA Largus station wagon as a potential rival to its new product.

Recall that the company spoke about the appearance of Lifan X80 in Russia already in 2015. The car is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a power of 192 HP, 6-band “automatic” or 6-speed “mechanics”. It has a 7-seater interior, a virtual dashboard, wood inserts in the cabin, soft upholstery of the front panel.

As for the minivan Lifan M7, there is a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 141 HP, as well as atmospheric engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters, which give 133HP and 141 HP, respectively, in the list of its power plants. They are aggregated with a 5-speed manual gearbox, 8-band “automatic” and a CVT.

Recall that at the end of 2018, the company Lifan stopped the production of its models at the Circassian plant Derways and began the search of a new production site in Russia.

As AUTOSTAT reported earlier, in the first half of 2019, Russian Lifan dealers sold 2,654 vehicles, which is 64% less than the previous year. It should be noted that by May, Russian dealers of Lifan sold out the last of the existing Lifan X70 crossovers, the most popular model in our country.
