    According to the assessment of the analytical agency AUTOSTAT, KIA Rio remains the most popular new passenger car with automatic transmission in Russia. For 6 months of 2019, 34.6 thousand units with automatic transmission were sold - 5.7% higher than in January – June’18.



What do Russians drive?


According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" at the beginning of 2019 in the Russian parc there were 43.5 million cars. The most common brand in Russia is LADA. Almost every third car owner (32%) has a Tolyatti-brand car (almost 14 million units).

Toyota is the second most common brand (3.8 million vehicles; 8.7% of the parc), more than half of which (50.5%) have the right hand drive and they are registered mainly in the Far East and Siberia.

The third place by the preferences of Russians is occupied by Nissan - 2.07 million units, among which a quarter of cars have the right–hand drive (526 thousand units). Approximately the same number of cars is belonged to Korean brands Hyundai (2.05 million units) and KIA (1.9 million units). It should be noted that the parc of Korean brands is much younger than it was at LADA and Japanese brands.

The TOP-10 of the most common cars, which are owned by Russians, also includes Renault (1.8 million units), Chevrolet (1.66 million units), Volkswagen (1.61 million units), Ford (1.39 million units) and Mitsubishi (1.17 million units). In general, the Russian parc has more than 100 brands.
