Ministry of Industrial Trade voted for ecological tax levy

Ministry of Industrial Trade votes for commutation of transport to ecological tax, but calls for working of its rates on the details. This announcement was made by Aleksey Rahmanov, the director of automotive industry and agricultural engineering department of Ministry of Industrial Trade of the Russian Federation, during the forum “AutoRetail in Russia”, organized by Adam Smith Institute. 

“Ecological tax levy needs more detailed consideration” AutoNews.Ru quotes A.Rahmanov’s words. At that, he believes, that ecological tax rates should be less for new ecological car, however the rates should not be unaffordable for those who can not afford a new car. “Ministry of Industrial Trade do not want to impair rights of elderly people with old cars. We should decide, what is better: social welfare today or population health tomorrow”, - the functionary concluded.

We should remind, that last week deputy director of Ministry of Industrial Trade Andrey Dementyev, during the meeting of AvtoVAZ chief designers Counsel, also mentioned that they are considering possibility of commutation of transport to ecological tax. As A. Dementyev explained, that it is necessary to make operation of old “dirty” vehicles unattractive and more people to choose ecological cars.
