The growth of the used car market has been noted in all premium brands


According to the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, for 4 months of 2019, the volume of the secondary car market in Russia exceeded 1.6 million units. It is more by 2.8% than a year ago.

At the same time, the market growth is observed both in the mass and in the premium segment. Experts noted that the premium segment accounted for about 10% of the used car market. In quantitative terms, it was 153.2 thousand units (+ 2.6%).

Three German brands are traditionally in the TOP-three in the premium car market: Mercedes-Benz (38.7 thousand units; + 1.9%), BMW (35.2 thousand units; + 2.8%) and Audi (28.4 thousand units; + 0.1%). During the reporting period, they accounted for a total of more than 65% of this market. They are followed by Japanese Lexus (14.9 thousand units; + 5.9%) and Swedish Volvo (9.9 thousand units; + 0.1%).

Experts of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT noted that by the end of January-April of this year, all premium brands show a positive dynamic in the secondary market. Moreover, individual brands even recorded double-digit growth.
