Production of passenger cars grew by 3% in March

According to Rosstat, for the first three months of 2019, 384 thousand cars left the Russian conveyors - it is more by 3.6% than during the same period of the last year. Meanwhile, in March, 137 thousand cars were produced, which is more by 3.3% than a year ago.

It is worth noting that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began the production of modernized off-road vehicles UAZ “Hunter” in the last month. We also add that the 2-millionth car left the conveyor of “Avtotor” since the start of production in May of 1997.

The production of trucks amounted to 29.4 thousand units in January-March, which is less by 4% than a year ago. Last month, 13.2 thousand trucks left the Russian conveyors - it is less by 3.1% than a year before. It is worth noting that the Gorky Automobile Plant began the production of new vans and minibuses GAZel Next 4.6 with an extra-long wheelbase in March.
