Within the framework of the annual Hyundai TruckandBus dealer conference, which took place at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, it was held a presentation of the new Hyundai medium-range car line – New Mighty. A new car should appear in the Russian market as early as in 2019, reports the press service of the company.
It should be noted that earlier, a new welding shop was prepared for the Hyundai commercial vehicles at Avtotor, the painting line and the assembly shop were modernized. A feature of the painting technology is the usage of additional anti-corrosion layer - secondary soil - which protects against the mechanical damage, enhances the protective properties and prevents the formation of corrosion.
As AUTOSTAT reported earlier, in December of the last year, the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad began the full-scale production of Hyundai HD35 and Hyundai HD35 City commercial vehicles. Thus, almost the whole line of Hyundai trucks is produced in the Avtotor along the full technological chain, including welding and painting. Today, there are four main models in the Russian market (in November of 2017, Avtotor launched the production on the full cycle of commercial vehicles HD78, and in June of 2018, the plant began the production of HD65 model in CKD mode).
Recall that the history of cooperation of Avtotor with the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai began with the launch of the production of HD78 trucks in 2011. In September of 2012, Avtotor began the mass production of Hyundai trucks. To date, the line of commercial vehicles includes models HD35, HD65, HD78, HD120, and HD170 with a wide range of Russian-made superstructures.
