Nissan presented a new model of car sales – City Hub

On March 28th, Nissan presented its revolutionary new project, Nissan City Hub. The revolution begins already with the fact that communication with a potential buyer of the car does not take place at the dealership auto show as it is used to be, but at a busy shopping center, and not even at the capital level: the project was demonstrated in a place not far from Paris. The main idea of the organizers was to combine e-commerce and concept store – by using e-commerce and new technologies, combine online and offline purchases.

By creating a project, Nissan was focused largely on the results of the Bain & Company 2017 survey and took into account that 50% of car purchases start online and that 60% of buyers make decision about the brand, model and price of a car even before they enter the dealership.

It took a year of development - and in the shopping center Velizy 2 near Paris, a Nissan City Hub appeared. Feature of the hub is a convenient location, thanks to which it fits into the daily life of buyers, and a unique modern look that distinguishes it from other car dealerships. Nissan City Hub is, first of all, a lively place, but at the same time it is perfectly technically equipped: 88 sq. meters of its area is occupied only by screens and displays. At the same time it has 5 points for cars issuing for a test drive. It is planned to expand Hub by the autumn.

And then the essence of the project can be expressed briefly: new technologies and new e-commerce techniques have been added to the familiar model of the dealership, designed to make it easier and more diverse the personification opportunities and the purchase of cars directly online. And all this is based on the approach “selling without pressure on the buyer”.

The central place in the “exposition” is devoted to the demonstration of Nissan Intelligent Mobiliti * technologies - such as the ProPilot system (which allows the driver to focus on the road) and the wide opportunities of the European bestseller among Nissan Leaf electric vehicles.

In the autumn, after expanding of the hub, the project organizers plan to include here also a demonstration of the first “fast charging station” system in France, as well as xStorage, an energy storage system, which is using new and used electric vehicle batteries. In the future, visitors of Nissan City Hub will be able to order delivery of a new car to any Altair dealership center or to their home.

In the future, the idea of such hubs is planned by Nissan to be in other parts of the world - in Berlin, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Shanghai.

* The concept of Intelligent Mobility, adopted in Nissan, covers three areas of innovations: the power system of the car, allowing the minimization of emissions and usage of only clean energy; improving of vehicles safety through the usage of technology "smart" autonomous driving; integration of car systems in society.
