Skoda has released a half-millionth car Superb of a third-generation


Today, on March 27th, a 500,000th anniversary liftback Superb of the third-generation was assembled at the Skoda plant in Kvasiny. According to the press service of the company, the production of the car of this generation began in March of 2015.

At the same time, Skoda Superb has been leading its history since 1934, when the 640 Superb was introduced. Its name comes from the Latin word Superbus, which translates as "amazing", "excellent" and "magnificent." It decorated Czech limousines brand until 1949 and became synonymous with the very best from Skoda. In 2001, ten years after merging with the Volkswagen Group, the Czech brand returned a model called Superb to the product line.

In 2008, the premiere of the second generation of the model was held at the Geneva Auto Show. Then it first became available with all-wheel drive, and in 2009 Skoda Superb Combi wagon appeared. If the model of the first generation sold around the world with a circulation of 136,100 units, then the second generation Superb became much more widespread: from 2008 to 2015, 618,500 cars were produced.

In 2015, it made its debut the model of the third generation, and in just four years, the car was sold around the world in a circulation of a half of million units, 358,200 of which were produced at the Kvasiny plant. The model is also produced in Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan), Solomonovo (Ukraine), Aurungabad (India) and Nanking (China). In total, since 2001, 1.25 million units of Skoda Superb have been transferred to customers. And in 2019, the model expects a new stage of the life cycle.
