In February of 2019, sales of new cars in Russia fell by 3.6% in compare with February of 2018. The mass segment for the second month in a row shows a negative trend (-4.8%). Its sales amounted to 112,135 vehicles, which is 90.6% of the total sales.

It should be noted that among the TOP-25 of leading brands, only 11 (less than a half) showed the sales growth. Geely remains in the first place in terms of growth rates - sales of cars of Chinese brand grew more than 4.5 times. Also, Chinese Haval (+ 246.5%) keeps the good dynamics. Among 14 brands of mass segment that showed a decline in sales, the largest decline was recorded at Chinese Lifan (-59.3%) and Japanese Honda (-46.8%).

In February, sales of premium-segment cars grew by 14.3% and amounted to 11,633 units (share of 9.4%). Most of the representatives of this segment are "in the black" (11 of 14 brands). The largest sales growth was recorded at Genesis, sales of which grew more than 3.5 times. Sales of Volvo almost doubled (+ 112.2%).

The rest brands demonstrate more “modest" growth rates: from + 0.1% (Audi) to + 87.1% (Jeep). The fall is observed at three brands: Infiniti (-4.9%), Lexus (-9.1%) and smart (-52.8%).
