What do Russian car ladies like to do in their free time?


On the eve of March 8th, the experts of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT decided to look at what women spend their free time when they are not at work and not driving.

In the survey “Preferences of Russian car owners in a car choosing,” conducted in November 2018, the experts identified a small block from the research results regarding the behavioral characteristics of car owners, their portrait characteristics and hobbies. It turned out that the TOP-5 of hobby of women and men looks different. From a huge choice of entertainment, women mostly prefer watching programs and TV shows, walking, relaxing in the country and just outside the city, social networking and reading magazines - these types of holidays were mentioned by more than 50% of women participating in the survey as the most popular, almost every second woman*.

These hobbies are also included in the TOP-5 among men, but the numbers in almost all of the specified areas (except for watching TV) look a bit more modest.

It was confirmed that car ladies, more than male car owners, visit museums, exhibitions, theaters (39% to 26% ratio), they go more often in cafes with friends and restaurants (32% to 24%), listen to music and audio books (37 % vs. 33%).

Women give free time to sports almost as much as men (31% to 32%). But in terms of computer games hobbies, the weaker sex loses significantly to the strong (16% to 35%). It also concerns the care of the car. Only 11% of women like to take care of their cars (to be engaged in repair, tuning, etc.) in their spare time, this indicator is more than 2 times higher for men (27%).

* More than 1,800 car owners took part in the survey. It was possible to specify several answers.
