Volvo presented XC90 SUV of 2020 model year

According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the share of sales of Volvo XC90 SUV accounted for more than 28% in 2018. It corresponds to 2.2 thousand sold units, which is less by 7.5% than in 2017. However, with the release of the updated version to the market, the situation may improve.

The exact terms of its appearance at dealers are not known yet, but today the press service of Volvo Cars reported that the production of the updated full-size SUV Volvo XC90 of 2020 model year will begin in May at a plant in the Swedish city of Torsland. Also some details about the car were revealed.

Thus, the updated XC90 for the first time offers its customers an advanced kinetic energy recovery system when braking. In combination with the line of existing internal combustion engines, it forms a new integrated electrified power plant with a new designation "B". It is noted that it provides 15% more economical fuel consumption and minimization of emissions in real traffic conditions.

In the field of active safety, the vehicle is equipped with a steering assistant with the usage both the City Safety system and the blind zone monitoring system (BLIS). City Safety with automatic braking technology is still the only system on the market that can recognize pedestrians, cyclists and large animals.

The Oncoming Lane Mitigation technology, first introduced in the model XC60, is now also available at the XC90. The cross-traffic warning system Cross Traffic Alert is now supplemented with an automatic braking function.

According to the experts of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, Volvo XC90 is the second most popular car of the Swedish brand in Russia. The SUV is the second only to the XC60 crossover, which accounts for about every third Volvo sold car.
