Japanese car market grew for the first time during 13 months

In September new passenger car sales in Japan grew by 1.7% up to 313,790 cars without minicars with engine capacity under 660 cm3. According to Japanese Auto Dealer Association (JADA), the Japanese car market grew for the first time during 13 months due to gradual restoration of car supplies after the earthquake in March. 

The leader in the Japanese car market is Toyota, whose sales in September increased by 0.7% up to 131,072 cars and including Lexus – the growth was 2.3% up to 136,842 cars. Nissan decreased its sales by 7.7% to 53,427 cars. Honda sold 43,422 cars, that is 1.6% more than a year ago. Mazda sales grew by 8.4% up to 17,409 cars, Suzuki sold 7,369 cars, which is 35.5% growth, and Mitsubishi decreased its sales by 13% to 6,479 cars.
