For the year the number of car dealers decreased by 40 ones in Russia

According to the results of the monitoring conducted by the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, in the territory of the Russian Federation in January of 2019, there were 3,450 official dealerships * by sales and service of cars. It is less by 40 than a year ago (in January of 2018 there were 3,490 dealers).

According to the agency experts, the decline in the total number of dealers in our country for the last year was due to the fact that 458 dealer contracts were terminated, and only 418 new contracts were concluded.

Among the brands, the dealer networks of which have decreased, it is worth noting the domestic LADA (-26 centres) and UAZ (-20 centres). At the same time, AvtoVAZ still has the largest dealer network in the country, which at the beginning of this year consisted of 289 dealers. Also a significant number of dealers were lost by Lifan (-12 centres). Now Ford has 6 less, and Volvo, Audi, Suzuki and GM-AVTOVAZ – less by 5.

Despite the general drop in the number of dealer contracts, it is growing for some brands. In this regard, Chinese Zotye (+24 centres), Hawtai (+19 centres), FAW (+18 centres) distinguished particularly themselves. In addition to them, Hyundai and KIA deserve the special attention, which for the year got more by 9 and 11 of dealers, respectively. Recall that both Korean manufacturers have the largest number of dealer centers among foreign brands - about 190 each.

We should note also that in addition to LADA, KIA and Hyundai, more than a hundred dealers in our country still sell and service such brands as Renault, GM-AVTOVAZ, Nissan, Volkswagen, UAZ, Skoda, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Lifan.
