The new compact crossover Skoda will be called Kamiq

Skoda Company continues to implement its global strategy, one of the points of which is the development of the model range of the SUV segment. So, it became known the name of the third model, which will join the family of Czech brand crossovers.

As the press service of Skoda informed, the new model SUV will be called Kamiq. This word comes from the language of Inuit - the indigenous people of northern Canada and Greenland - and means a subject that is so well suited to its owner that it feels like a second skin. It is also noted that the new crossover will receive the same name as the model already presented in the Chinese market. In addition, this name corresponds to the current nomenclature of the Czech brand, according to which the names of all Skoda models in the SUV segment begin with the letter K and end with Q.

Recall that cars of this segment are already being sold in Europe - Kodiaq and Karoq. At the same time, the first one is localized in Russia and it is also being implemented in our market, while the second one is expected by the end of the year. Thus, the Kamiq crossover will be the third representative of this segment and will become the most affordable SUV model in the European market. The world premiere of the Skoda Kamiq will be held in March of 2019 at the Geneva International Auto Show.
