Mitsubishi increased sales 1.8 times in Russia in 2018

In December, Russian dealers of Mitsubishi sold 5532 cars, which is more by 49% than the year before. At the end of 2018, 45,390 Mitsubishi vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 1.8 times higher than a year ago.

According to the press service of MMS Rus, the Mitsubishi bestseller remains the Outlander crossover in the Russian market, sales of which in the last year grew by 46% to 24,511 cars. The second most popular model of Mitsubishi was the frame SUV Pajero Sport, which was chosen by 9,492 customers (2 times increase). The third place was taken by the ASX crossover with an indicator of 4,815 sold cars (an increase of 5 times).

The new compact crossover Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which entered the Russian market in April of 2018, was sold in the amount of 2962 units by the end of the year. As noted, the sales results of Eclipse Cross show the steady growth every month since the appearance of the car at dealers, which indicates the growing interest of Russian buyers to the crossover.

“December is always a difficult month in terms of car sales, but this time we exceeded the plan by 32% and could have done even more if the plant could produce the required number of new Outlanders to meet the high demand for our most popular model. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of our team of MMS Rus and, of course, to our dealers in this calendar year, we exceeded the planned sales figures and increased our market share. Thus, according to the results of the last two years, the company has shown the continuous steady growth,” - said Osamu Ivaba, the President and Chief Executive Officer of MMS Rus.
