Rosstandart issued the first electronic certificate for a car

The first electronic vehicle type approval (E-VTA) is issued for the Mazda CX-9 car. The car, the production of which was established at the Mazda-Sollers plant in Vladivostok, has successfully passed all the necessary tests and certification procedures. VTA is signed with the usage of electronic digital signatures, reported the press service of Rosstandart.

Recall that the start of the pilot project for the transition of certification of cars into electronic form was given at the Moscow International Auto Show at the end of August – the beginning of September of this year.

As the head of Rosstandart, Alexey Abramov, notes, electronic certification of cars minimizes the risks of technical errors and intentional violations in the design of documents. Such a digital environment will be convenient and useful for authorities, business and ordinary car owners. The system of electronic passports of vehicles is designed to make as transparent as possible all operations with a car and the accuracy of its history.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, a specialized IT infrastructure and a dedicated secure communication channel was created at the Mazda-Sollers enterprise to switch to the E-VTA, which provides data exchange between the automaker and Electronic Passport JSC (Vehicle E-Passport Administrator). Thus, Mazda-Sollers specialists set up an automated process for downloading vehicle data to create an E-VTA at the enterprise. In the near future, the company is planning a gradual transition to the E-VTA for all manufactured vehicles.
