  • 13.02.20 How did car sharing develop in Moscow?

Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" have already reported that Moscow has become the world leader by the car sharing. So, at the end of 2019, there were a little more than 30 thousand car-sharing cars in the Russian capital. The Moscow car-sharing fleet has developed very rapidly during the past few years.

The global car market fell by 7% in November

The global car market fell by 7.3% up to 7 million 916 thousand cars and light commercial vehicles in November. The annual level of sales cleared of seasonality, calculated by the results of the previous month, was 91 million 200 thousand cars. According to the results of 11 months of 2018, sales of cars in the world remained at the last year’s level and they were 86 million 592 thousand units (+ 0.1%), according to data received by the AUTOSTAT agency in the consulting company LMC Automotive.

China keeps the world leadership in car sales, where there were sold (-13.9%) 2 million 532 thousand cars in November. America remains the second largest global car market with an indicator of 1 million 381 thousand cars (-1%).

Automotive markets in Western Europe continued to fall - in November by 7.3% to 1 million 214 thousand cars. The negative trend is due to the introduction of the new WLTP car certification rules in the European Union on September 1st, which continues to influence the market demand. Car sales in Eastern European countries were 377.5 thousand units - less by 6.3% than the last year. It is worth noting that the Russian car market in November returned to a two-digit growth, but sales of new cars in Turkey continued to fall.

In South America, the local dealers sold 259.4 thousand cars, which is less by 2.9% than in November of the last year. Among the world's largest car markets, Japan (436.6 thousand units, + 8.6%), Korea (159.3 thousand units, -0.6%) and Canada (147.2 thousand units, -7.5%) are also worth mentioning.
