Volkswagen Golf got back the title of European bestseller in October


Hatchback Volkswagen Golf, which dropped out of dozens of the best-selling models in Europe in September after the introduction of new WLTP certification rules, got the title of European bestseller in the last month, despite a two-digit drop in sales. As it was noted in Volkswagen, the electric modification of e-Golf became the leader in demand among electric cars in Germany in October.

According to the research company JATO Dynamics, Volkswagen Golf became the best-selling model in Europe in October with an indicator of 32,345 sold cars (-26%). The second place was occupied by Renault Clio, sales of which increased by 2% to 23,937 cars. The third result was shown by Volkswagen Polo - the sales of this model were 20,987 units, which is more by 60% than a year ago. Ford Fiesta is the next, which was chosen by 20,811 European buyers (+ 2%).

Toyota Yaris closes the TOP-five this time which was sold in amount of 18,951 units (+ 8%). The TOP-10 of best-selling models in Europe also included Skoda Octavia (18,043 units, -6%), Peugeot 208 (17,962 units, -17%), Peugeot 3008 (17,317 units, + 12%), CitroenC3 (17,068 units, 0%) and Fiat Panda (16,088 units, -3%).
