New minivan Geely may appear in Russia


The company Geely Auto presented the first in the history of the brand minivan, which will be available with hybrid power plants. The car’s entry into the market is scheduled for the beginning of 2019. In Russia, the model may appear no earlier than 2020, reported the press service of Geely. As noted, the launch of the hybrid MPV is a part of the Blue Geely large-scale strategy, according to which by 2020 90% of the sales of all Geely cars will be made up of cars using new energy sources - both hybrids and electric vehicles.

So, in addition to the traditional 1.8 TD engine with a 6-speed automatic, the minivan Geely car will be available with a 48-volt soft hybrid (MHEV or mildhybrid), as well as with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV or plug-inhybrid) in combination with a 1.5 TD engine and 7- stepped robotic gearbox.

A mild hybrid (MHEV) with a 1.5 TD engine and a 48-volt hybrid power plant will produce 140 kW, torque will be 300 Nm, and the combined cycle consumption will be 5.9 liters per 100 km. The plug-in version (PHEV), which assumes a 1.5 TD engine in combination with a 7-speed robotized transmission, as well as a powerful lithium battery with a capacity of 11.3 kWh, can develop a power of 190 kW, a torque of 385 Nm, and fuel consumption will drop to a record 1.6 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle. Finally, the traditional 1.8TD petrol engine with 6-speed automatic transmissions develops 135 kW and 300 Nm of torque.
