New BMWi3 and i3s electric cars are available at Russian dealers from November 1st

BMW Group Russia has announced prices for BMWi3 and i3s electric cars with new batteries with a capacity of 120 Ah and an energy reserve of 42.2 kWh. Thus, the price of a BMWi3 in the basic configuration will be 3,840,000 rubles, while BMWi3s can be ordered from 4,140,000 rubles.

BMWi3 is driven by a 170 hp electric engine and it is able to accelerate from standstill up to 100 km / h in 7.3 seconds, while the BMWi3s electric engine produces 184 HP and 270 Nm (20 Nm more than the base i3) and it can accelerate the car up to 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds. Both electric vehicles are able to accelerate from 80 to 120 km / h in 5.1 and 4.3 seconds, respectively. It is also reported that the mileage of an electric vehicle on a single charge in actual use is over 260 km.

A standard charging cable allows you to replenish the energy with a regular household power supply. In this case, at a current of 2.4 kW, the battery can be charged up to 80% in about 15 hours. When using high current DC charging, the battery of the new BMWi3 can be recharged up to 80% in about 45 minutes. Charging of a car with the usage of a BMWi Wallbox, available for purchase at BMW authorized dealerships, takes up to 3.1 hours from 0 to 80% (depending on the connection method and the power of the power grid).

As the General Director of BMW Group Russia Stefan Tohehert noted, electrification is one of the main and, perhaps, the most obvious trend in the development of the automotive industry.

As previously reported AUTOSTAT, as of July 1, 2018, there were only 11 BMWi3 electric vehicles in Russia.
