Rostech and Pirelli will invest 100 million Euros in the expansion of the Voronezh Tire Plant

On October 24th, Rostech State Corporation and Pirelli Tayrussia signed a memorandum on plans to expand the production capacity at the Voronezh Tire Plant. Production will be increased from 2 million to more than 4 million tires per year. To achieve these indicators, about 100 million Euros will be invested in the development of the Voronezh plant, reported the press service of Rostech.

The investor will be Pirelli Tire Russia, with the support of Rostech State Corporation, which owns 25% of the company's capital. The main objective of the project is to meet the needs of the Russian and international premium tire markets.

“The readiness of the Italian partners, Pirelli, to invest in the development of the Voronezh Tire Plant, speaks about the success of the chosen development strategy of our joint venture. Expansion of production volumes will allow the saturating of traditional markets and entering new ones. In addition, it will allow the creating of new jobs in the Voronezh region,” - said Rostech's General director, Sergey Chemezov.

Voronezh Tire Plant (VSHZ) is one of the largest tire plants in Russia. It was bought by the joint venture in February of 2012.

Today, the plant is one of the most technologically advanced tire manufacturing enterprises. The plant not only produces tires for the Russian market, but also exports its products to Europe, Scandinavia and the CIS countries.
