In September, the Russian car market ranked the fourth in Europe

The car market of Russia, which in August became the third largest in Europe, dropped to the fourth place in the European championship in the last month. As analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, the Russian car market continues to show the growth, while in Europe there is a general decline in demand associated with the performance of the new WLTP car certification rules from September 1st.

According to the data received by AUTOSTAT agency in the national associations of car manufacturers in Europe, the leader in car sales was the United Kingdom in the last month, where 338,834 cars were sold (-20.5%). The second place in the European championship was occupied by Germany with the indicator of 200,134 sold cars (-30.5%). France is the next, the car dealers of which sold 148,752 cars (-12.8%).

If, during the considering of the automotive market in Europe, we take into account Russia, then our country dropped to the fourth place of the European rating. According to preliminary estimations of the agency "AUTOSTAT", sales of passenger cars were about 148 thousand units in the last month (excluding LCV).

This time Italy closes the TOP-five of European leaders with the indicator of 124,976 sold cars, which is less by 25.4% than the last year. We also add that the Spanish car market fell by 17% in September and it was 69,129 cars.
