How many cars does one dealership sell in Russia?

In the new study, the experts of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" decided to analyze what is the average annual efficiency of a single car dealership in Russia. The study was based on two indicators at the end of 2017 - the sale of new cars and the revenue from it.

During the study, the experts noted that the average annual efficiency per centre increased. Thus, the average sales in 2017 grew by 16% and they were 440 units, and the average revenue from sales was 587 million rubles, which is more by 19% than for the same period of the last year.

However, upon closer examination, it is obvious that the efficiency of car dealerships in Russia depends largely on a number of additional factors - for example, on geography (in different regions of Russia, the volumes and structure of dealers' revenue have their own characteristics) or the segment, to which the sold cars belonged to.

So, in 2017, in the mass segment, the average annual sales per car dealership were 473 cars, which are much higher than in the premium one (263 units). But as for the revenue - the opposite situation was there: the revenue per one dealership centre in the mass segment was 506 million rubles, in the premium segment - 2 times higher (1,018 million rubles).

With even more detailed consideration, the experts also noted that the effectiveness of car dealerships largely depends on their affiliation with one brand or another. In the new report “Russian auto retail 2017. Key indicators and performance” the analysts calculated the average annual performance indicators for each of 20 brands leading in the Russian market in terms of revenue.
